Cinqair

CINQAIR is a treatment for severe, uncontrolled eosinophilic asthma. It is a prescription medicine used with other asthma medicines for the maintenance treatment of asthma in people aged 18 years of age and older whose asthma is not controlled with the current asthma medicines. When added to other medicines for asthma, CINQAIR helps prevent severe asthma attacks (exacerbations) and can improve your breathing.

Medicines such as CINQAIR reduce blood eosinophils. Eosinophils are a type of white blood cell that may contribute to your asthma. It is an “add-on” medication which means it is taken along with the medications you are already taking, such as inhalers and oral steroids.

Administration Information

CINQAIR is given as an intravenous (IV) infusion by a healthcare provider. It takes as little as 20 to 50 minutes to receive the full dose and is given every 4 weeks.

Potential Side Effects

The most common side effects of CINQAIR include throat pain, breathing problems, skin rash (hives), itching, swelling of your face and possible low blood pressure symptoms including fainting, dizziness, lightheadedness, confusion, and fast heart beat.
