Elfabrio

Elfabrio
Elfabrio® (pegunigalsidase alfa) is a prescription infusion medicine used to treat adults with Fabry disease. It is a hydrolytic lysosomal neutral glycosphingolipid-specific enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) that has been shown to work safely and effectively over the long term in adults.
Fabry disease is a rare, inherited genetic disorder that affects the body’s ability to break down certain fats (glycosphingolipids).Studies show using ERTs may help maintain kidney function and slow the progression of disease.
Administration Information
Elfabrio is administered as an intravenous infusion at a weight based dose every two weeks, typically in a clinical setting with optional premedication to reduce infusion-related reactions.
Every person is different, so in addition to the Elfabrio infusion time, more time may be needed for giving premedications. Please note once it’s clear that your body can tolerate the Elfabrio infusions, your doctor may gradually speed up the rate of infusion.
Rate of Infusion will vary based on a patient's tolerance
Potential Side Effects
The most common side effects of Elfabrio include infusion-related side effects, common cold, headache, diarrhea, fatigue, nausea, back pain, pain in the limbs, and sinus infection.
