OCTAGAM® 10% is a liquid medication that contains Immunoglobulin G (IgG) and is used to treat chronic immune thrombocytopenic purpura (cITP) to rapidly raise platelet counts to control or prevent bleeding in adults and for dermatomyositis (DM) in adults.
Administration Information
For patients with DM dosed at 2 g/kg every 4 weeks
For patients with cITP: 2 g/kg divided in equal doses given over 2 consecutive days
Number of yearly treatments: 12
Possible Side Effects
The most common side effects include chills, headache, fever, vomiting, joint/muscle/lower back pain, skin rash, tiredness, and weakness. <br>
