Oxlumo

Oxlumo

OXLUMO® (lumasiran) is a prescription medication used to treat primary hyperoxaluria type 1 (PH1), a rare genetic disorder that leads to the overproduction of oxalate in the body that affects your kidneys.

This condition can cause kidney stones, kidney failure, and damage to other organs, due to the accumulation of oxalate in the kidneys and other tissues. Oxlumo works by targeting production of oxalate that is being made in the liver and reducing the amount the body has to then process.

Administration Information

Oxlumo is given as a subcutaneous injection by a healthcare provider. Dosing happens in 2 phases. The first phase includes 3 doses that are given monthly. The second phase includes the 4th dose to then continue ongoing doses every quarter (1 injection every 3 months depending on patient’s weight).
