Audiograms During TED Treatments
Hearing Tests (Audiograms)
DURING YOUR TEPEZZA® TREATMENT
As part of your care at Sage Infusion, we help monitor your hearing throughout your TEPEZZA® treatment.
What to Expect:
1. Baseline Hearing Test
- You will receive a hearing test (called an audiogram) at your first infusion appointment to understand your hearing before treatment begins.
2. Follow-Up Hearing Tests
- Additional hearing tests may be scheduled during treatment, based on your provider’s recommendations (for example, before your 4th infusion).
3. Monitoring Your Hearing
- Your hearing test results are compared to your first (baseline) test.
- We will also ask you to let us know if you notice any changes in your hearing, such as ringing in the ears, muffled sounds, or trouble hearing.
4. If Hearing Changes Are Noted
- If your hearing test shows changes or you report hearing symptoms, your infusion may be paused for your safety.
- Your provider will be notified right away.
5. Next Steps if Needed
- If hearing changes occur, you may be referred to an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialist for further evaluation before continuing treatment.
6. Communication With Your Provider
- After each infusion, your provider receives a treatment summary.
- If a hearing test is completed during your visit, the results are shared with your provider.
7. Ongoing Support
- We keep your care team informed of any side effects or unexpected changes during treatment.
If you ever notice changes in your hearing or have questions, please let your care team know right away. Your safety and comfort are our priority.
